ChatGPT dots are always-on AI agents that OpenAI launched in September 2026. Each dot has its own cloud computer and browser, connects to the apps you choose, and keeps working between conversations. You give it a goal and rules about what it can do alone, and it reports back for anything that needs your decision.

How a dot differs from a normal chat

In a normal ChatGPT chat you ask, it answers, and you carry the answer somewhere else. A dot takes ongoing responsibility for a piece of work. It can check a pipeline every morning, follow a research question over several days, or tidy a calendar, and it keeps context as it goes.

Who can get one

• ChatGPT Pro users, outside the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the UK.
• ChatGPT Business Premium users in all supported regions.
• Enterprise, Edu and Healthcare workspaces as a beta, once an admin turns it on.
• Your first dot is included in the plan. You create it on desktop, then can talk to it on mobile.
