Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. They let the website remember things about your visit — for example, that you are signed in, what language you prefer, or that you have already dismissed a banner. We also use similar technologies, including local storage and pixel tags, which we refer to collectively as “cookies” in this Policy.

2. Why we use cookies

We use cookies to:

• Keep you signed in to your account.
• Protect against fraud and abuse.
• Remember your preferences (for example, light or dark mode).
• Measure how the website and Service are used so we can improve them.
• Show you relevant information about the Service when you visit.

3. Consent and choice

Strictly necessary cookies are set without consent because the Service will not function without them. For all other cookies (analytics, preferences, marketing), we ask for your consent, and we apply Google Consent Mode v2 — analytics and advertising storage stay denied by default for visitors in the EEA and the UK until they accept. You can change your choices at any time using the controls described in section 6.

This approach is designed to align with the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Where the law of the visitor’s country requires a stricter consent standard, we apply that standard.

4. Cookies we use

The current set of cookies and storage items used by Kahu Logic falls into the following categories:

Used only with your consent. We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to measure aggregate traffic and feature usage so we can improve the Service. Under Google Consent Mode v2, analytics storage stays denied — and any measurement pings are cookieless and non-identifying — until you accept. We do not enable Google Signals or ad personalisation from this analytics data.

4.4 Marketing (non-essential)

We do not set marketing or remarketing cookies unless you consent. When advertising measurement is enabled — the Meta (Facebook) pixel and Google Ads tags — it stays denied by default under Consent Mode v2 and fires only after you accept; you can withdraw consent at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer. As of the date above, these advertising tags are not yet live on kahulogic.com.

5. Third-party cookies

Some pages may load resources from third parties — for example, fonts from Google Fonts or embedded videos from a video-hosting provider. Those third parties may set their own cookies, governed by their own privacy and cookie policies. We try to keep third-party embeds to a minimum.

6. How to manage cookies

You can manage cookies in several ways:

• On our site. Use the cookie banner on first visit, or open the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer to change your choice later.
• In your browser. Most browsers let you block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, delete cookies, or be alerted when a cookie is set. Visit your browser’s help pages for instructions.
• For analytics opt-out. You can install Google’s opt-out browser add-on for Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in and other core functionality.

7. Updates to this Policy

We will update this Policy when we add or remove cookies, change a provider, or when the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top tells you when the latest version took effect.
